Laser Resurfacing As An Anti Wrinkle Treatment Option

Let’s be honest here – most of us would rather not have to look into the mirror and have those dreaded wrinkles stare back at us. Well in that case, you may have heard of laser resurfacing – an anti wrinkle treatment option that’s used by many women.

Whether you have fine lines around the eyes so fondly referred to as crow’s feet or laugh lines from so many happy times, wrinkles are a sign that you are getting older, but you are as young as you feel, so why shouldn’t your skin look as young as you feel?

Well, let’s find out more about this option of laser resurfacing for wrinkles in this article, and then compare this option with wrinkle creams.

If you aren’t familiar with laser resurfacing, then let’s start off with what effects laser resurfacing has.

The laser removes your damaged, wrinkled skin on the surface. The end result after a healing time, is a more younger and healthier looking skin. Nothing truly removes deep wrinkles from your face but the laser can take away the surface of the wrinkle making them look much less noticeable, and fine lines and wrinkles can be reduced. It can also help remove age spots and skin scars too.

How does it work? The process is really quite simple. A small light energy laser will destroy the top layer of skin very quickly. It then heats the dermis, which is what stimulates the skin to grow. With the top layer of skin removed your body needs to regenerate and replace that skin with new fresh skin, which will look healthier, and less wrinkled.

Is laser resurfacing the treatment that’s right for you and your wrinkles? Although nothing is for certain, there are many who do use this treatment option. Having a highly skilled technician will play a role in just how successful your treatments are. Do a little research, ask around, and check the web.

However, recovery from laser resurfacing takes time. In fact, it’s rather extensive , and the recovery period can last from ten days to two weeks. The area that receives the treatment will need to be bandaged and it can be very painful depending on the extent of the procedure. You may also experience some redness in the areas that were treated. The pain is easily managed with over the counter pain medication.

So if you have laser resurfacing done, you’ll have to perhaps put your social life on hold for a while.

So how does laser resurfacing compare to wrinkle creams and an anti aging treatment to look younger?

If you’re comparing laser resurfacing to wrinkle creams that work, then wrinkle creams has certain benefits over laser treatments.

Firstly, wrinkle creams are non invasive, and don’t involve burning off a surface layer of skin. As a result, there’s generally less potential for redness and damage to the skin.

Secondly, with wrinkle creams, you get a “lift” of the skin which is important in younger looking skin, especially around the eye area. This lift is very often forgotten about when it comes to anti aging, and it literally will have your skin look 10 – 20 years younger as a result.

Thirdly, wrinkle creams provide much needed antioxidants which slow skin aging as well as allowing cells to resume their youthful, healthy functioning, which means your skin will look younger as time goes on. Not many treatments, except for wrinkle creams, can provide these antioxidants needed, for younger looking skin.

So there you have it.

You now know about laser resurfacing as an option for reducing the signs of aging, and how they compare to anti aging wrinkle creams that work.

So go for it and get gorgeous skin, and enjoy the benefits younger looking skin brings.

Dallas Tattoo Removal – 6 Reasons Why Patients Remove a Tattoo

Laser tattoo removal is growing to become one of the most common aesthetic procedures in Dallas, Texas. Substantial improvements in the efficacy, safety, and price of tattoo removal have allowed thousands of people every year to remove unwanted tattoos. A procedure that cost tens of thousands of dollars a decade ago now costs a fraction of that, and the side effects have become very manageable for even sensitive patients. But what motivates someone in Dallas to remove a tattoo?

Tattoo removal – now that it is less painful and less expensive – has broadened the range of reasons for someone in Dallas to remove a tattoo. Previously, only the most unacceptable tattoos would be candidates for removal. Gang tattoos, seriously botched tattoos, and the names of former relationships partners would be removed, but with a high risk of scarring and other side effects. With new technology, though, tattoo removal can be obtained with scarring, only minor redness and swelling, and fast treatments. Here are the top reasons why Dallas tattoo removal patients seek this popular new procedure:

1) The tattoo removal patient has a name tattoo that doesn’t have the right name on it. We’ve all been in relationships that didn’t work out. The person we thought we’d be with forever was dumped, or we got dumped by them. Tattoo removal can remove these name tattoos and allow someone to put the past behind them.

2) A new job – many tattoo removal patients in Dallas are joining the military or a company where tattoos are not allowed. Military regulations forbid tattoos above the collar or below the shirt sleeve. Some companies have policies on tattoos and many don’t. But Dallas employers may be hesitant to hire someone with visible tattoos that would reflect poorly on the company, especially in the service industry.

3) A faded tattoo doesn’t look great anymore – many women in Dallas have tattoos with beautiful flowers, animals, or designs. But after a decade in the sun, the colors in these tattoos may have faded away or turned from a pretty pink to a less attractive shade.

4) A tattoo doesn’t look how the patient wanted – this may be the fault of a poorly-skilled tattoo artist or a patient who didn’t know exactly what they wanted in the tattoo. Tattoo removal offers an effective way to fade the tattoo so it can be completely removed or covered up.

5) Children – many new mothers and fathers seek tattoo removal in Dallas because they don’t want their children to see their tattoo. What mom and dad did during school or on a crazy night might not be what they want their children to see. Mothers may have had their tattoo stretched by pregnancy and need to remove their tattoo.

6) Parents – for some young people still living at home, tattoo removal is a decision their parents have suggested or imposed. For young people who make homemade tattoos after school or go to a tattoo parlor and surprise their parents with a rose tattoo or the name of their girlfriend, tattoo removal may be what they’ll spend their hard-earned summer lawn mowing money on. Many parents in Dallas look for tattoo removal clinics once they discover tattoos they didn’t know their kids had gotten months before and had kept hidden.

To learn more about what kind of tattoos are removed, read about the most common tattoos that are removed.

Young Living Essential Oils and Children

I was introduced to Young Living essential oils ten years ago as a natural way to treat depression. I’ve written about this experience, as it changed my life in an amazing way. The short version of this story is that I’m happy, healthy, and free of depression, completely naturally.

But this article is to offer my experience using Young Living essential oils with children. I am mother to 5 ½-year-old Sophie and 19-month-old Max, and I’ve found essential oils to be a beautiful way to bond with children, relieve their challenging symptoms, and strengthen their immune system. I couldn’t imagine raising children without Young Living essential oils, because the quality of their essential oils is so exquisite, but also because the blends that Young Living creates are simply magnificent at relieving symptoms, and soothing overtired children.

Here are some examples of how I’ve used Young Living oils on my children. We were traveling and my daughter spent a lot of time in the pool and subsequently developed an ear infection. I didn’t want to fill the prescription we received at the emergency room, and luckily I traveled with R.C., a blend that contains eucalyptus radiata and peppermint. I started immediately to apply R.C. around my daughter’s ear (never put essential oils in the ear canal, it can be extremely painful to do this) and down her neck over the Eustachian tube. I did this every hour or so for the entire day before we boarded the plane, and before long, my daughter stopped complaining and tugging at her ear. We again brought her to the emergency room and the doctor there was satisfied that her ear was okay to travel. We boarded our flight the next morning and arrived home two hours later with no problems aboard the plane. When I brought her to our pediatrician at home, the next day, he found her ear to be free of any infection.

Usually we use R.C. for any coughs or colds that crop up around our house, and they always disappear within a few days. When especially bad viruses are going around school, I simply apply Thieves blend to the bottoms of my daughter’s feet each morning before she leaves the house. Thieves contains a blend of essential oils that have been known for centuries as fighting infection and strengthening the immune system. In fact, the name “thieves” comes from the story of several thieves who were successfully robbing the dead during the Middle Ages in the midst of a plague, and the king who captured them demanded to know the secret blend that protected them from the disease.

The other blend that we wouldn’t be without during the winter months is Di-Gize, a blend that contains tarragon, peppermint, and other stomach soothing oils. Whenever a stomach virus is making the rounds, we simply apply a few drops of this amazing blend on our stomachs or place a few drops in a glass of water (many of the blends made by Young Living are certified as GRAS or generally recognized as safe for consumption) by the FDA. This soothing, calming blend is a powerhouse for knocking out indigestion, heartburn, and even constipation.

When my inlaws or anyone who suffers from arthritis visits, I always keep the PanAway blend close at hand. I’m no longer surprised at the reactions from people who use it and are taken aback at the powerful the pain relief they experience. I jealously guard it however, or instruct people how to order it themselves, as I love this blend for any muscle aches that comes from exercise or overwork and couldn’t be without it.

Young Living oils have become the “medicine chest” in our family. I am so thankful to have alternatives to over the counter medications and even though I wouldn’t refuse antibiotics if we needed it, we’ve been able so far to avoid them because Young Living essential oils work so well. They empower me to soothe my children when they’re sick, help them to relax when they are overtired, and connect with them when they are well. My children also recognize the smells of nature, which is unfortunately very rare today, as we live in such a synthetic environment. They are also learning how to take care of their symptoms using a time-tested, safe, and non-invasive modality.

Back in the days changing a hairstyle used to be a game of luck. Those who dared would put their hair through several irreversible transformations just to find that perfect look. However, often times the reward for such bravery was: “I can’t let people see me like this!” Well, those days are gone now thanks to the virtual hairstyle makeover tools. Virtual hairstyle makeover allows you to try thousands of new hairstyles risk-free with a click of a button.

Here are some advantages of virtual hairstyle makeover:

* Choose your virtual hairstyle makeover from thousands of options: a combination of thousands of hairstyles, hundreds of colors, tones and highlights. You are no longer limited to those few magazines that you find at your beauty salon.

* Find your best look before heading out to a hair salon. And this time you’re not having your style changed by your stylist – you are finally getting a hairstyle that you know will be the best fit.

* Share your virtual hairstyle makeover ideas with friends and family before making a final decision. No more “Oh my God! What did you do to yourself?” kind of stuff. Just print the picture out or email it.

* Get the latest celebrity hairstyles. Whether it’s seen at Oscars, Emmys or Grammys, you can have the same look thanks to virtual hairstyle makeover websites.

There are hundreds of virtual hairstyle makeover tools out there. So which one should you choose? I recommend making your selection based on these:

1. Check how many hairstyle and color choices they can offer. It’s really hard to find a satisfying combination out of just 100 options, look for the ones that offer more than a thousand variations.

2. Ask how many of your own photos you can upload to use with their makeover tool. Some offer just one upload, but you don’t want to limit yourself.

3. Find out how complete their service is. Is it just a makeover tool or a comprehensive virtual hair salon where you can also get professional advice, related news, articles and tips.

4. Be sure to ask for a free virtual hair style. A free trial or demo means that a service provider is confident that you’ll like what you’ll see.

5. Look for a complete package. Your new hairstyle may dictate some changes in accessory items or cosmetics as well. Advanced virtual hairstyle makeover websites allow you to compliment your new hairstyle with a selection of facial makeup, glasses, jewelry, etc.

Once you find the virtual hairstyle makeover service that suits your needs, keep these factors in mind when choosing your new hairstyle: the shape of your face, current condition of your hair such as thickness and elasticity. Additional costs that may be related to your new style should not be overlooked either. Ask yourself if the style of your choice will make you visit your stylist more often than usual; will it require special care, products or equipment?

Changing your hairstyle may very well change your life. Be sure to take advantage of virtual hairstyle makeover tools when making this important decision. Happy styling!

What Spa Grade Microdermabrasion Machines Can Do for You

Microdermabrasion is one of the most powerful and popular cosmetic skin care treatments. Renowned for its ability to bring about drastic improvement in the texture and appearance of skin, microdermabrasion is sought after by people who want to keep their skin in the best possible condition.

Many people who are serious about maintaining healthy and beautiful skin entrust their skin care needs to microdermabrasion professionals who use spa grade microdermabrasion machines as part of their skin care regimen. More and more spas are adding spa grade microdermabrasion machines, and treatments are surprisingly affordable.

What is Microdermabrasion?

Incorporating exfoliation into your skin care routine is an important component of keeping your skin in the best possible condition. Microdermabrasion is a highly effective means of exfoliating your skin. Microdermabrasion removes the top layer of skin, taking with it dead skin cells, sun damaged skin tissue, and even raised scarring. When the top layer of damaged skin is sloughed away, what comes forward is a more youthful and resilient complexion.

What Are Spa Grade Microdermabrasion Machines?

While there are a number of different microdermabrasion methods, treatment options that use spa grade microdermabrasion machines are increasing in popularity. The unique feature of spa grade microdermabrasion machines is that they actually polish your skin with crystals or polishing implements tipped with diamonds, depending on the grade of the particular machine being used.

Spa grade microdermabrasion machines are a powerful tool for bringing about drastic improvements in the appearance and condition of skin for many people. They are very successful in helping to diminish elevated acne scars, age spots, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Further, treatments with spa grade microdermabrasion machines also help even out the texture of skin, brighten dull skin, and correct hyper pigmentation problems.

While most people notice a dramatic improvement in the appearance of their skin following even their first microdermabrasion treatment, ongoing treatments are recommended for the best results. Generally, maximum results can be expected within six to twelve weeks of beginning weekly treatments with one of your salon’s spa grade microdermabrasion machines.

Why are Spa Grade Microdermabrasion Machines Better?

There are several different types of microdermabrasion treatments. Many people choose to go with an at home method for microdermabrasion. At home microdermabrasion can be very beneficial. However, spa grade microdermabrasion machines offer a superior quality microdermabrasion experience.

Treatments with spa grade microdermabrasion machines offer higher intensity skin polishing than you can get with an at home treatment. Just like with prescription and over the counter medications, microdermabrasion treatments delivered by professionals have stronger, higher grade ingredients and can bring about faster results.

Spa grade microdermabrasion machines [http://www.microdermabrasionhelp.com/Microdermabrasion_Elevated_Acne_Scars/] are operated by trained professionals who are able to work with you to select the ideal products and treatment program to result in maximum improvement in the appearance of your skin. Following a successful course of professional microdermabrasion treatments, you will be pleasantly surprised by the youthful glow of your skin!

What Are the Most Useful Hyperpigmentation Treatment Options?

If you are suffering from skin inflammation that is regularly caused by acne breakouts (or rashes, wounds, and other reasons), you probably are interested in finding out more about what types of hyperpigmentation treatment options are most effective. Even though many scoff at hyperpigmentation because it is a “temporary” problem, for many it is a serious issue, since the unattractive marks left by it can last for as many as two years! If you do not simply want to wait for them to go away, consider one of the following treatment options.

What Works

Most people prefer to start simple with over the counter treatments or natural remedies. This can mean going to the store to find products such as Olay Definity, or turning to supplements such as vitamin A or C, both of which can promote healthier skin. Olay’s product, as well as many others like it, includes N-acetyl glucosamine and niacinamide, which are believed to help clear up skin problems caused by post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Even though more studies have to be done to prove the connection, a lot of people who have used these types of products are very firm in their belief that they help clear up these types of marks.

Hydroquinone is a hyperpigmentation treatment aid that can be found in the form of a cream. It can be purchased over the counter, although you can find a cream of greater strength by getting a prescription from your dermatologist. Hydroquinone blocks the production of melanin, which allows the area that it is applied on to lighten up.

Also, you can turn to chemical peels or microdermabrasion to speed up the recovery from post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The drawback here is that the cost will be more than with an over the counter product or natural remedy, but these are very efficient methods nonetheless.

You may be best suited to speak with your dermatologist, so you can get their opinion on what your best course of action is. After all, there are a lot of choices for hyperpigmentation treatment, and an expert will be able to recommend one based upon their knowledge of the options themselves as well as your skin type and the seriousness of your hyperpigmentation issues.

Still, an over the counter product or natural remedy will get you jump started on the route to recovery, in the meantime. Either way, it is reassuring to know that you can do something besides simply waiting for the marks to go away.

If you simply do not want to wait for those unattractive hyperpigmentation marks to go away by themselves, there are many effective hyperpigmentation treatment options to choose from. So there is no excuse to put up with them any longer. And for more tips and advice to get rid of your scars fast… I would like to invite you to Visit: http://www.acne-scars-remedy.com today and don’t forget to claim your FREE copy of my “Ultimate Acne Scar Guide.”

Is Anti Aging Restylane Treatment Right For You?

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Restylane Treatment is a clear, biodegradable gel, made primarily from Hyaluronic Acid.

(Hyaluronic Acid is found naturally in your body: but for Restylane Treatment production, it is made by a process which involves the fermentation of the Bacterium Streptococci). Hyaluronic Acid is the active ingredient.

The trade marked product called Restylane is one of the newer skin injectable treatments in the Anti Aging market. This product has been used in Europe since the 1990s, the US since 2003 and is used for filling out facial lines and wrinkles: the versatility of Restylane Treatment means that it can also used to restore volume to facial features and other body areas.

How Can I Use Restylane Treatment?

Clients using Restylane receive injections in their Qualified Practitioner’s office. The Treatment process is normally considered to be fast, easy and generally not considered to need any anaesthetic (with the exception of Restylane Lip Injections, which are usually accompanied by a local anaesthetic). Your Qulified Practitioner will normally administer your Treatment over the course of 10 minutes to 1 hour, depending on how large the area to be treated is.

Before giving Restylane injections, your Practitioner may choose to use a local anaesthetic to numb the treatment area. A small amount of Restylane gel is then injected into the skin with a very thin needle. (Because the needle is so thin, thereshould be minimal discomfort associated with the injections). The Hyaluronic Acid molecules in the Restylane gel naturally draw in water, causing the tissue beneath lines and wrinkles to plump up. This immediately fills out wrinkles and gives the skin a smoother surface. And the result is a younger looking face in minutes!

Once the gel has been finished, patients are free to return to normal activities. The Hyaluronic Acid gel, once injected into the area or areas to be treated, is gradually broken down. So, how long does each treatment last? Well, after several months, (maybe even as much as 12 months) the effects of the Hyaluronic Acid will fade, with no trace of the filler being left. The client might then consider having a top – up.

What is the Cost of Restylane Treatments?

Restylane is usually sold by the syringe: so depending on circumstances such as the area(s) to be treated, the amount of Restylane used and Practitioner fees, costs in the UK range between £250- £400 per treatment. In the US, expect to pay between $300 – $700.

What are the Advantages and Disadvantages?

Advantages Include:

i) Restylane is non – animal based, so has good universal appeal from an allergy and ethical point of view. However, because Hyaluronic Acid is derived from a bacterial source, those with allergy toward the proteins of bacteria, should not use this product.

ii) Hyaluronic Acid not only fills in lines and wrinkles in the face, but also adds moisture and lubrication to the skin, making it feel younger and more comfortable.

iii) Restylane Treatment can be designed to solve specialised problems. That’s because the gel can be made into different sized particles. So, Restylane can treat from the lips (producing volume and fullness) and thin upper layers of the skin, to deeper lines and also adding volume to, for example, the cheeks and chin.

iv) Restylane Treatment is on record as lasting twice as long than other non – permanent skin injectable treatments.

v) Does not require any pre-allergic tests.

vi) Each treatment requires just a few injections, so it is fast and easy.

vii) Each subsequent treatment provides progressively longer lasting results.

viii) Results can potentially last for as long as 12 months.

Disadvantages include:

i) The resulting effects are temporary, and so can only last for a limited amount of time.

ii) Clients with known sensitivity toward Hyaluronic Acid cannot use Restylane products.

iii) A small amount or redness, bruising, swelling, discolouration and tenderness are all possible with application. The extent of this will depend in part on the skill of your Qualified Practitioner.

Botox Vs Dysport

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Botox and Dysport are two very effective and popular cosmetic treatments that are used all over the country today. There are a few differences and similarities between the two, along with a few considerations to think about when choosing between the two. It is important to understand what each of them is, how they work and what the dangers or concerns with them are.

Botox Injections

Botox is known more scientifically as Botulinum toxin, which means it is a bacteria and a toxin, making it dangerous. Botox injections are used, however, to control muscle spasms and for several different cosmetic procedures, for anything from crow’s feet and fine lines around the mouth to stopping the production of sweat in the armpit area. The toxin moves into the muscle and skin tissue of the injection site and paralyses the tissue, making it difficult or impossible to move or use those muscles or that skin tissue and therefore reducing the lines and wrinkles of the area.

Side Effects of Botox

Botox injections have several side effects that are common though they are often very temporary and rarely serious. This is because when Botox is used in small doses it is not as lethal or toxic to the person as a whole organism as it would be in larger doses. A common side effect includes bruising at the site of the injection. Other side effects include headaches, allergic reactions, dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), and flu-like symptoms. Other things that can happen as a result of Botox injections is unusual facial expressions such as dropping eyes or a smile that is uneven, or in some cases a decrease in the ability to chew solid foods properly.

Dysport

Dysport is like Botox in that it is injected into the skin and it is also a form of botulism toxin. It has been said that Dysport seems to begin working faster than Botox, with it working in 1-2 days versus Botox working in 3-5. Dysport injections are also hugely popular among those who will spend any amount of money to look and feel younger, and has even been said to last longer than Botox. It is not clear why Dysport injections may work better than Botox and, indeed, it is not even clear THAT it works better than Botox injections.

Side Effects of Dysport

As with Botox, Dysport is also known to have a few side effects and drawbacks to their use. Bruising is also very common at the site of Dysport injections. Other side effects include numbness in the area, tingling, and swelling or bruising of the area. Another downside to using Dysport is that studies suggest it may cause more antibody formation than Botox. This is bad because, though not dangerous, it means that the body can form a resistance to the toxin used in Dysport and potentially cause it to stop working for you. For some clients, this reason alone is enough to choose Botox. Others don’t buy the hype.

Some Alternative Types of Hyperpigmentation Treatment?

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

There are several different types of hyperpigmentation treatment available today, mainly because skin pigmentation conditions can be found in a wide range of forms. Hyperpigmentation can be defined as a darkening of areas of skin or fingernails caused by an excess of melanin being produced in the body. Skin pigmentation on the face can often cause a lot of distress for those who have this condition. As there are many forms of hyperpigmentation, so are there multiple causes – for example, overexposure to the sun, acne, inflammation, and Addison’s disease to name a few. As for any hyperpigmentation treatment, there are many options, but effective treatment depends on a correct diagnosis and the skilled application of any given therapy.

Dermal hyperpigmentation is the form that is most resistant and stubborn to any medical intervention. In many cases, the use of concealing cosmetics tend to be the best remedy, but there have been promising advances in dermal hyperpigmentation treatment using alexandrite and ruby lasers. However, research is still ongoing in this area. Laser treatment does not get rid of any pigmentation permanently, it only masks the problem for a while.

Laser therapies may also have side effects in the form of atrophy and hypertrophic scarring as well as discomfort and increased pigment production. If you have melasma, in general, this condition tends to be resistive to lasers anyway. In the case of epidermal hyperpigmentation treatment, there are a few more alternatives. Hydroquinone is applied topically and works by inhibiting the enzymes that convert dopa into melatonin. However, hydroquinone requires a prolonged course of treatment to be effective. Mequinol, tretinoin, alpha-hydroxy acids, azelaic acid and salicylic acid can also used as topical solutions.

Some of the most efficient therapies, have been combination treatments, such as low concentrations of hydroquinone and tretinoin. Combination treatments can be continued for a longer time and may also strengthen the epidermal layers of skin.

More invasive forms of hyperpigmentation treatment can take the form of chemical peels, dermabrasion, and cryosurgery. Chemical peels can be helpful for photodamaged skin and cryosurgery is handy for the treatment of lentigines. However, it can lead to an increase in the levels of pigmentation if this is not properly applied. It is suggested that the better results come from brief, intermittent freezing of the lesion, which must be precisely targeted to avoid affecting normal tissue. Even then, using other therapies such as skin creams will complement these therapies and ameliorate any potential side effects.

It cannot be emphasized enough, that early diagnosis and intervention is essential to ensure the correct choice of treatment. The sooner it is discovered, the greater the range of hyperpigmentation treatment options that will be available to you whether you have skin pigmentation on face, body or both.
